SLASSCOM’s Colombo Quality Engineering Conference (CQEC) to happen in November
SLASSCOM, Sri Lanka’s national chamber for the IT/BPM industry, is set to host the fifth edition of Colombo Test Automation Conference (CTAC) this year. The conference widely considered as one of the biggest test automation conferences in Sri Lanka, has expanded its scope by rebranding as ‘Colombo Quality Engineering Conference’ (CQEC) and will be held on 23rd and 24th November 2021 from 4.00 p.m. to 6.30 p.m. (IST).
With the previous edition of the conference held in 2020 having been a resounding success and recording over 250 attendees, this year’s edition is expected to reach a much wider audience both locally and globally.
Bringing together leaders in the test automation community to contribute their insights on software testing technology, trends and best practices, the event is an invaluable platform for quality engineering professionals and enthusiasts in the industry, who stand to benefit from this exceptional opportunity to learn, upskill and grow in the sphere of quality engineering.
This year’s session, spearheaded by SLASSCOM’s Quality Forum, will be a virtual event, fostering discussions on topics from a global market perspective, facilitated by experienced and seasoned practitioners in the information technology & BPM industry, as well as in academia. The event is supported by Dialog Enterprise as the Corporate Sponsor, Nagarro as the Platinum Sponsor, IFS as the Gold Sponsor, LSEG Technology as the Innovation Partner, APIIT as the Academic Sponsor and Fortude as the Silver Sponsor.
The event will feature Co-Founder and Head of Accelerated Quality and Test-Engineering at Nagarro Hannes Färberböck; Director of Engineering at mParticle, United States Janne Loefler; Lead Software Engineer Quality Assurance at IFS Sweden, Adrián Milés Rosario López; Chief Scientific Officer at Zone 24×7 USA, Dr. Gerard Fernando; Head of Quality Assurance at Fortude Harshana Kuruppu; Director of Nagarro, Austria, Thomas Steirer; and Director – Quality Engineering of Sysco Labs Janith Gunasekara.
This renowned lineup of speakers will discuss the trending topics, applicable in supporting industries that adopt best practices in the quality engineering sphere, pertinent to the pandemic era we live in and beyond.
CQEC is one of the most-talked-about and much-awaited events by the tech industry because of the wide range of pertinent topics covered and renowned industry leaders it features every year. Some of the key topics that will be discussed at CQEC 2021 will include AI applications to test automation, machine learning, data science, performance testing, RPA in the QE realm, and data security.
Outlining the journey of this initiative and the value that can be derived from this year’s event, SLASSCOM Chairperson Sandra De Zoysa stated “it has been over a decade during my tenure as head of the Quality Forum, that we conceptualized and held the first conference and it brings me great joy to see how much value addition this knowledge sharing and collaboration event has generated for the quality fraternity of our industry. CQEC 2021 is more pertinent than ever before with the prevailing pandemic condition and the resultant acceleration in digital transformation. It’s clear that manual testing will no longer fit the bill for the vast array of new technologies that’s being implemented globally. Therefore the CQEC’s vision this year is to help organizations expand their techniques, get up to speed on the latest tools and trends and improve processes.”
With many challenges faced by software companies today ranging from productivity during working from home, cost escalation, management oversight and difficult or unmanageable release schedules, CQEC promises to be the ideal platform which provides the opportunity to discuss solutions and gain insights from top industry experts.
