Encounter ‘15 is an evening of prayer to be held on the 14th of November that will be conducted by the Community of the Risen Lord. It will be an evening of passionate worship and powerful preaching for young professionals and young adults.
The line-up for the evening includes praise, music, real life testimonies, skits, and talks by internationally renowned speakers. According to Lalith Perera, Spiritual Director of the Community of the Risen Lord, who will also be one of the main speakers at the event, – “Young adults are constantly confronted with ambiguity and change in their lives. They raise legitimate faith questions; we must therefore give them an opportunity to develop a deeper faith experience with Christ.”
Encounter’15 is organized by the Young Adults Ministry of the CRL, which includes young adults who are employed at various corporate firms along with full-timers who serve at the CRL. The event is being conducted for the second time after the first successful ‘Encounter‘, which was held in 2012 and attended by over one thousand young adults.
“As young professionals, we are constantly driven towards the betterment of our careers. However in the midst of this race, it is not uncommon for us to become worn out and tired. There is an underlying sense of emptiness that we experience. However, God promises each of us greater joy, peace, and fulfilment and we want all young professionals to receive this experience.” says Inuk Jayasuriya, one of the members of the ministry.
Encounter’15 will be held on Saturday, 14th of November, at St. Peter’s College, Bambalapitiya, from 2.00 p.m. to 8.00 p.m. The event is open to young professionals and young adults between the ages of 21 – 40.
